Mid Week Post

 Kia Ora Kākano Whitu whānau!

We have had a busy week of learning!

We have been looking at our zone of regulation and how to manage our emotions. We looked at the Green Zone, Blue Zone, Yellow Zone and Red Zone. We have drawn some cool emoji art for each zone, taken some pictures of our faces in each zone and also told a story about each zone! You will be able to see these either in class or on EDUCA by the end of the week! Take a look at some of our cool zone photos!

Blue Zone: Sad, Tired, Bored and Sick!

Green Zone: Happy, Ready for learning, focused and calm.

Yellow Zone: Frustrated, Irritated, Worried, Silly, Overexcited

Red Zone: Angry, Terrified, Out of Control, Hitting/ Yelling

Coping Strategies: Finger Breathing, Big Deep Breathes, Hugs, Talking to friends and Tissues for tears.

Each zone is linked to an Inside Out Character so they have a visual. Talk to your child at home about which zone they are in and what they could do to get back to the green zone.

I am so incredibly proud of how all of the tamariki are settled into class and their routines. Please keep encouraging them to be independent when coming to school and doing their jobs!

Thank you so much for supporting our first aid Ice Block fundraiser this week. Today was the last day for ice blocks to be purchased for that but on Friday we still have our usual juicie and sausage sizzle for $1.50 each!

If you are in pompallier house (green) which is Sayrus and Bir from Kākano you get to wear your GREEN clothes this Friday all day instead of uniform for Golden Time!

We have library day of Friday so please make sure library books come back to school so that they can pick 2 more book for the week!

For the remainder of this term and term 4 we need to be wearing our FULL SUMMER UNIFORM. This means we wear full black school sandals! Then in term 2-3 we can wear covered in shoes!

I hope you all have been having an amazing week!
