Kia Ora Koutu,  We have been up to a lot this week already. Our students are busy little learners from the second they walk into Kākano. Play provocations are set up for the children from 8:30am - 9:00am and it is an important time for children to be involved in learning through play. Students need to be involved in this during this time. Teachers will be marking their rolls at 8:45am and if your child arrives after that time they will need to go to the office to sign in.  Changes in our space and learning:  On Monday our children got to explore our new learning and play spaces. Kākano 7 and 5 had a change around and we now get to mix and mingle with the Year 2 students as well.  By moving our classes around we have been able to make room for a really cool handmade kitchen for the children to play with. They have been loving cooking in the kitchen, using all the different play ingredients, washing the dishes and setting up the dinner table.  If you happen to have cleaned out your kitch

Week 1 Term 3 Welcome back to T3!  We hope you all had a restful holiday break. The teachers spent their holidays participating in professional learning and are keen to begin implementing our new learning with the children.   We also have been busy changing things up in our classroom and are excited to see what the children think of their new space. Kakano 7 has now moved over to where we do our roll in the morning. We have moved to create a bigger and more realistic space full of play that is seen at school and home! This week we welcome Mrs Jane Trask to the Kākano whanau.   Mrs Trask and her new children will be working in the room just outside of Kākano.  We can't wait to welcome our new friends. What is happening this week… Monday: Normal school day Tuesday: Normal school day Wednesday: Normal school day Thursday: Matariki Liturgy 12:15 in the school hall (all parents and families are welcomed) Friday: Library / Sausage Sizzle and Juicies for sale ($1.50 each) / School
