Kākano Seven
We would like to welcome our new student, Sophia Hodge. She has settled into our class amazingly well and well done to all the other students who have been good friends and helped Sophia feel welcome in Kākano 7.
Well, we have had a busy week of learning this week. The children have been doing a lot of phonological awareness learning and number knowledge learning.
Our children have been enjoying our outdoor learning with bug finding, gardening, and building. We are asking if you have
anything listed below that you no longer need at home if we could please have it for our outdoor area.

Nails
Saws
Anything useful on our carpentry table
Sheets, Blankets, Large Pieces of Fabric
Bug catchers and containers
Butterfly nets
Gala Day Collection
Thank you so much to the families that have contributed to our School Gala by bringing in things from home.
This is what is still to come this week for the Gala...
Thursday 25th February
Bottle Day: Please bring a bottle or jar of something. e.g. Shampoo, Sauce, Condiments/Relish, Perfume, Jam, Oil, etc. Please
note that no alcohol is allowed to be brought to school by children.
Friday 26th February
Nacho Day - Corn Chips, Tinned Tomatoes, Chilli or Kidney Beans, Onions, Nacho Mince Recipe Sachets.
A few reminders coming to the end of the week:
Please keep a lookout for students' book bags that will have some home learning you can do with them in their bags.
Book bags need to come back to school every day of the week. Homework has been sent home from yesterday andthe kids are excited to share and do some learning with you!
School Hats need to be brought to school otherwise students will not be able to play at morning tea and lunchtime.
Orange Library Book Bags need to be returned with x2 books by Friday.
Remember that students need to bring a fruit or vegetable for a brain break in the morning block!
